Salma Mazhar MD, PA is a growing Internal Medicine practice dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare. As we continue to expand our services, we are seeking an experienced and compassionate Adult Psychiatrist to establish and grow our behavioral health division.

This is an excellent opportunity for a psychiatrist who wants to build a thriving outpatient practice with a strong referral base from our established internal medicine clinic while offering advanced psychiatric treatments such as TMS, and Spravato®.

Position Summary

The Psychiatrist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult patients with a wide range of psychiatric conditions while collaborating closely with our Internal Medicine team. The physician will also lead the development of an interventional psychiatry program utilizing evidence-based treatments for treatment-resistant depression and other appropriate psychiatric conditions.

Responsibilities

General Psychiatry

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations.

• Diagnose and manage mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other psychiatric illnesses.

• Develop individualized treatment plans.

• Provide medication management and follow-up care.

• Coordinate care with primary care physicians and other healthcare providers.

• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Interventional Psychiatry

The physician should have experience or be willing to obtain certification/training in:

• Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

• Spravato® (Esketamine) Therapy

• Management of treatment-resistant depression

• REMS compliance for Spravato

• Patient selection and treatment planning

• Monitoring patients during and after procedures

• Developing evidence-based treatment protocols

Collaborative Care

• Work closely with our Internal Medicine providers to manage patients with both medical and psychiatric conditions.

• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning.

• Provide consultation services for primary care providers.

• Help integrate behavioral health into primary care.

Qualifications

Required:

• MD or DO

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry

• Texas Medical License (or eligible)

• DEA Registration

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred:

• Experience with TMS

• Experience administering Spravato®

• Experience in outpatient psychiatry

• Interest in growing a behavioral health program

• Interest in collaborative care models

Patient Population

The physician will primarily treat adults with:

• Depression

• Treatment-Resistant Depression

• Anxiety Disorders

• PTSD

• ADHD

• Bipolar Disorder

• OCD

• Panic Disorder

• Insomnia

• Schizophrenia and Psychotic Disorders (outpatient)

• Mood Disorders related to chronic medical illness

Compensation is flexible and may include:
