NOW HIRING: EXPERIENCED FIBER-OPTIC EQUIPMENT OPERATOR / CREW LEADER

Pay: $25–$35 per hour, based on experience, leadership, and performance

Experience is required. This is not an entry-level position.

We are looking for a dependable, hardworking, and experienced operator who can lead a fiber-optic drop-bury crew while actively working alongside the team. The right candidate must be responsible, safety-conscious, productive, and capable of following strict installation requirements.

Required Experience

• Operating cable plows, trenchers, and drop-bury machines
• Reading and understanding 811 utility markings
• Safely excavating on private property and within utility easements
• Operating pneumatic boring missiles
• Completing road, driveway, and sidewalk bores
• Installing and burying fiber-optic cable and conduit at a minimum depth of 7–9 inches
• Identifying and avoiding existing underground utilities
• Protecting customer property and restoring job sites properly
• Confirming the customer’s internet service is working before leaving the job

Leadership Expectations

• Lead by example and work alongside the crew
• Do not simply stand around and give orders
• Communicate professionally with customers, crew members, supervisors, and contractors
• Follow all job instructions and company procedures exactly
• Keep the crew productive, organized, and working safely
• Report damages, delays, utility conflicts, and incomplete work immediately
• Take responsibility for the crew, equipment, vehicles, and completed work
• Maintain good communication throughout the workday

This is a physically demanding outdoor position. Applicants must be capable of working long days, walking difficult job sites, digging by hand, lifting equipment, operating machinery, and working in heat, cold, rain, mud, and uneven terrain.

We will provide the plow machine, equipment, and crew members. Additional compensation and fuel assistance may be available for applicants who have a reliable work truck.

Bilingual English and Spanish is strongly preferred.

SUBCONTRACTORS ALSO NEEDED

We are also looking for established subcontractors who have their own:

• Trenching or plow machines
• Trucks and trailers
• Boring equipment and missiles
• Tools and safety equipment
• Experienced crew members

Subcontractor rates are highly competitive and paid by the foot or completed unit. We have consistent year-round work available through multiple telecommunications companies.
