Job Title: Facility Engineer Location: Waterloo Works – Tractor Operations, Waterloo, IA Job Type: W2 Contract Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM), with occasional extended hours until 5:00 PM a few times per month Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Facility Engineer to support manufacturing facility improvements, infrastructure upgrades, maintenance projects, and production equipment enhancements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, maintenance engineering, or operations, along with experience managing cross-functional projects in a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on position requiring approximately 75% of the time on the manufacturing floor. Candidates should be comfortable working in an industrial environment and coordinating with multiple departments, contractors, and skilled trades. Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and manage facility infrastructure and maintenance-related engineering projects. Lead multi-disciplinary facility improvement projects from planning through implementation. Coordinate Hot Work Requests and Red Tag reviews. Design and support facility infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, structural, and production equipment systems. Manage engineering projects involving production equipment, facility infrastructure, and manufacturing processes. Coordinate contractors, skilled trades, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. Troubleshoot facility infrastructure and production equipment to minimize downtime. Support Emergency Notification Systems (ENS), FM Global Insurance coordination, and IT/network-related facility projects. Assist with non-mobile material handling equipment engineering, application, and installation. Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, life safety requirements, and applicable building codes. Identify environmental, safety, ergonomic, and health risks and implement corrective actions. Research, evaluate, and coordinate qualified vendors and contractors for maintenance and construction projects. Communicate project status and coordinate activities with operations, maintenance, engineering teams, and management. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. 5+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or Operations Supervision. Experience coordinating multiple contractors and skilled trades. 3+ years of experience with building infrastructure systems, including: Mechanical Systems Electrical Systems Structural Systems Strong understanding of engineering principles related to manufacturing operations. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and manufacturing safety practices. Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work effectively with production personnel, engineering teams, contractors, and management. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Emergency Notification Systems (ENS). Experience coordinating FM Global Insurance requirements. Knowledge of manufacturing facility infrastructure projects. Experience supporting IT and network infrastructure projects. Experience with material handling equipment engineering and installation. Work Environment Fully onsite position (Remote work is not available). Manufacturing/shop floor environment. Approximately 75% of work performed on the factory floor. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Business casual attire. Metatarsal safety boots required on the first day.
