The Opportunity

This is the senior site acquisition seat at a New York clean energy developer building battery storage, microgrids, and distributed energy infrastructure across the city and beyond. The business builds better, faster, and cheaper, and it is about to break ground on a run of projects this summer while opening up new markets.

You will own site acquisition end to end. You will run your own pipeline, negotiate and close your own contracts, and be the face of the company to landowners, brokers, attorneys, and partners. You will hold signature authority on LOIs and lead on leases and purchase agreements. When there is a real strategic question, you will escalate it. The rest of the time, you drive.

The team is lean and everyone wears a few hats. That is the point. This is a builder's seat for someone who wants to point at deals they got across the line, not just pipeline they touched.

What You'll Do

Source, negotiate, and close site acquisitions across the NYC area and, over time, the company's new markets. Lead landowner negotiations directly and sell the company story credibly to sophisticated counterparties. Build and manage the broker and originator network that feeds your pipeline. Draft, redline, and shepherd LOIs, leases, easements, and purchase and sale agreements to close with outside counsel. Oversee title, survey, environmental, zoning, and permitting workstreams. Keep pipeline data clean in the CRM and mapping systems, and give the Managing Director of Development a weekly pipeline read without being asked. Mentor an acquisitions analyst and feed real estate inputs into the deal models the development and finance teams run.

What You Bring

Five to ten plus years of site acquisition or commercial real estate transaction experience, with realtime in the NY tristate industrial market. A track record of independently closing complex deals, including direct landowner negotiation and contract execution. Fluency with commercial real estate documents and comfort working alongside outside counsel. Established relationships across the tri-state real estate community. The ability to run a modern pipeline with CRM, Excel, and GIS. Energy and persistence in a role defined by long deal cycles and the occasional setback.

Energy storage experience is welcome but not required. Real estate dealmaking and commercial maturity are the harder skills to teach, and they are the ones that matter most here.
