Must have: Insurance background. Guidewire is a strong plus.

Required

• Strong SQL: complex joins, CTEs, window functions, UNION ALL, plus the ability to troubleshoot and optimize on their own
• Source-to-target mapping with solid field-level documentation
• Understanding of data grain and how it affects accuracy
• Data warehouse fundamentals: dimensional modeling, fact/dim design, SCDs, layered architecture (staging to conformed to curated)
• Data quality mindset: validation checks, reconciliation queries, monitoring
• Version control and code review experience
• High attention to detail and ownership of data accuracy
• Self-directed problem solver who brings solutions, not open-ended questions
• Comfortable digging into legacy, poorly documented source systems
• Clear documentation habits without being prompted
• Able to explain technical work to business stakeholders

Nice to have

• P&C insurance knowledge (quoting, binding, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, claims)
• ETL/ELT tools: dbt, Informatica, SSIS, Talend
• Policy admin or claims platforms: Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco
• Exposure to multiple lines of business
• BI tools: Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy
• Cloud: Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP
• Python or Spark
