About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM) Experience: Minimum of 2 years acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Epic experience; familiarity with Hysterectomy, gyn, total joints, general, bariatric, Da Vinci Robot, ENT, Thoracics, Neuro spine, Plastics Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education supported by a governance framework. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN utilizes the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition; demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development and Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care while collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs during their stay and at discharge. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; functions as a mentor and preceptor; encourages teamwork; identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement; participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts; complies with regulatory standards; participates in governance models.
