Editorial Internship: Social Media & Digital Storytelling — UNGA 2026 Envoy Magazine is looking for a social media intern to join us for the UN General Assembly — the biggest week in global diplomacy, happening right here in New York. This is a mentorship-focused internship for a student or someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience covering multilateral diplomacy. You'll work closely with UN-credentialed journalists, learn how a newsroom covers a major international summit in real time, and build a portfolio of published social content from one of the most-covered weeks of the year. What you'll learn: how to translate complex diplomatic stories for a general audience, short-form video production in a newsroom setting, and how UN coverage actually works from the inside. The details: Flexible schedule set with your supervisor, roughly September through UNGA week. Remote, with the option to join us in person during the General Assembly (Sept 22–28). Envoy provides a stipend to offset transit, meals, and other costs incurred during the internship. We're looking for early-career storytellers in New York who follow world affairs closely and are comfortable with a camera and an editing app. Pitches you send remain yours; we won't use them unless we bring you on or agree otherwise in writing. Qualifications Required: Based in New York, with availability for in-person days during UNGA week Demonstrated experience running or growing social accounts — personal, campus, freelance, or professional all count Comfortable shooting and editing short-form vertical video (CapCut, Premiere, or similar) Genuine interest in international affairs and the UN system Nice to have: Familiarity with UN structures, the Secretary-General selection process, or multilateral diplomacy Experience with Instagram Reels, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts specifically Basic graphic design (Canva, Figma, or Adobe) Additional languages, especially French, Spanish, or Arabic Prior newsroom, campus media, or communications experience About Envoy Magazine Envoy Magazine is an independent nonprofit publication founded in 2024 by a group of UN-based journalists, covering the United Nations, diplomacy, and global cooperation from the inside.
