Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room environment. The qualified candidate will assist in various types of surgeries, including those focused on general orthopedics, hand, foot/ankle, sports medicine, total joint replacement with robotics, and solid spine procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures, including setting up the operating room with necessary instruments and equipment.
• Ensure the operating room is sterile and ready for surgery.
• Support the surgical team throughout procedures and assist with patient care pre- and post-operatively.
• Handle and maintain surgical instruments, ensuring proper sterilization and functionality.
• Participate in emergency preparedness and respond effectively to call situations.

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist or Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Experience with spine surgeries involving pedicle screws and ACDF procedures.
• Familiarity with robotic surgical systems such as Mako, Rosa, and Cori.
• At least one prior travel contract experience is required.

License and Certification Requirements

• Current NBSTSA certification is preferred, but not required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Work Schedule

The position requires flexible scheduling including 8 or 10-hour workdays with on-call duties on a rotating basis. Weekend and holiday call rotation will also be expected as part of the position.

Additional Information

Orientation will require 10 hours prior to the start date. Credentials must be submitted by Thursday prior to the start, including a Drug Screen, Complete Blood Count, and Tspot/QuantiFERON Gold test done within 90 days of the start date.

This position is located in Skokie, IL, at a specialty hospital focused on orthopedic and spine surgery procedures.
