THE OPPORTUNITY
CRST is seeking a Maintenance Compliance Coordinator to support the safe, compliant operation of our transportation equipment. In this onsite role, you will help manage the licensing, permitting, inspection, maintenance, and compliance records that keep equipment operating safely and in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements.

You will work closely with maintenance, operations, safety, legal, and other internal teams to track renewals, address documentation gaps, prepare reports, and follow issues through resolution. This is an opportunity for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who takes ownership of deadlines, enjoys solving problems, and is comfortable working with data, systems, and documentation in a fast-paced transportation environment.

HOW YOU’LL WORK

  • Location : Onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA
  • Schedule : Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
  • Compensation : Expected hourly range of $17.20–$25.81, based on relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and work location.
  • Benefits : Comprehensive package including medical, dental, and vision coverage; prescription drug and telemedicine services; company-paid life and disability insurance; retirement savings with company match; paid time off, holidays, parental leave, plus additional voluntary benefits and employee discounts.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Licensing, Permits + Renewals

  • Coordinate applications, renewals, and tracking for required licenses, permits, registrations, and certifications for company equipment.
  • Monitor expiration dates and follow up with internal teams, vendors, and agencies to help prevent compliance gaps.
  • Address licensing, permitting, and registration issues in a timely manner.

Equipment Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records for equipment compliance, inspections, repairs, maintenance activity, licenses, permits, and certifications.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including equipment safety, inspection, operation, and maintenance requirements.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, identify missing information, and drive timely resolution.

Reporting + Issue Resolution

  • Prepare and submit regular reports on licensing status, renewals, compliance metrics, and outstanding requirements.
  • Help oversee the reporting and investigation of equipment-related incidents and violations.
  • Track follow-up actions through completion and escalate issues when deadlines or compliance requirements are at risk.

Collaboration + Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with maintenance, operations, safety, legal, and other teams to support equipment compliance requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on licensing, permitting, documentation, and equipment compliance processes.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to help improve compliance processes and equipment safety.

WHAT GREAT LOOKS LIKE
A detail-focused coordinator who takes pride in keeping records accurate, deadlines visible, and issues moving toward resolution. You are highly organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities without losing track of important details.

You know how to follow through - whether that means obtaining a missing document, resolving an expired registration, clarifying a compliance requirement, or ensuring an inspection-related issue has been closed. You are confident using Excel and other computer systems, communicate clearly with others, and take ownership of your work from start to finish.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in an office-based environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify, communicate, and resolve issues.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate professionally with internal and external partners.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

GOING THE EXTRA MILE

  • Experience in transportation, fleet, maintenance, safety, equipment, licensing, permitting, or regulatory compliance.
  • Experience maintaining vehicle or equipment records, inspection documentation, maintenance files, registrations, permits, or certifications.
  • Familiarity with DOT, FMCSA, federal, state, or local transportation and equipment regulations.
  • Experience using Excel or other systems to track deadlines, renewals, reports, and compliance metrics.
  • Experience supporting incident reporting, audit preparation, corrective actions, or violation resolution.
  • Associate’s degree or additional training in transportation, logistics, maintenance, business administration, safety, or a related field.

CORE VALUES

  • Safety at the Core of All We Do
  • Integrity in Every Decision and Action
  • Commitment to the Success of Employees, Customers, Agents, Contractors, and Communities
