Medical Lab Technician

Join to apply for the Medical Lab Technician role at Dignity Health Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic Microbiology department. This position plays a vital role in providing accurate and timely diagnostic testing to support patient care. Responsibilities Perform a Wide Range Of Microbiological Tests, Including Bacterial culture and identification Antimicrobial susceptibility testing Fungal culture and identification Parasitological examinations Molecular diagnostic testing (PCR, etc.) Prepare and maintain culture media and reagents Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, incubators, and automated systems Ensure proper specimen handling and processing Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests performed Adhere to strict quality control procedures and safety protocols Participate in departmental quality assurance activities Collaborate effectively with other laboratory personnel and clinical staff Assist with training and mentoring of new staff members Qualifications One year of experience as a Lab Assistant or Technician in a clinical laboratory preferred. AA degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, including a minimum of 36 semester units of physical or biological science from an accredited college or university Current CA MLT license. (CT MEDTECH) Current Los Angeles City fire card is required. (CT Fire Card must be obtained within 90 days of start date.
