Phone Nurse (FT)

Overview Registered Nurse Licensed in the State of Illinois. Experience Electronic Health Record experience preferred. Skills Clinic knowledge of outpatient clinic setting to complete precertifications and referrals timely. Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills Must build strong positive communication with physicians and work as a team to enhance the success of the services provided. Must convey a professional demeanor. Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation. Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone and in writing. Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and peers. Nature of Work Handles phone calls from patients, pharmacies, and other sources relating to orders, medical care, etc. Work as a team with practitioners, nurses, management, and ancillary hospital departments to deliver exceptional care to patients. Coordinates with key hospital departments and outside entities to handle needs of the clinic and its patients including orders, precertification of insurance for procedures/orders, referrals, obtaining outside records or accepting referrals, and scheduling appointments with patients. Occasional completes vitals intake and obtains history and physical details to prepare the visit for provider.
