Exciting Opportunity for Trauma Stepdown RN!

Job Description:
- Position: Travel RN - Trauma Stepdown
- Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
- Location: Surgical Trauma Unit
- Number of Beds: 25
- Staffing: 44 FTEs (57 headcount)
- Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 6 RNs, 3 Techs, 1 Secretary
- Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 6 RNs, 3 Techs
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 (1:5 max for stepdown)
- Equipment: EMR Meditech
- On Call Requirement: None
- Floating Requirement: Stepdown service lines (Progressive Care Unit/Heart and Vascular Unit)

Typical Skill Set:
- Must Have:
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIH
- Excellent customer service skills
- Preferred or Nice to Have:
- Trauma/Orthopedic experience
- Meditech experience

Typical Procedures Performed on the Unit:
- Acute surgical interventions and post-op care including:
- Trauma Surgery
- Bariatric Surgery
- Vascular Surgery
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- General Surgery
- Urological Surgery
- Orthopedic Surgery
- Neuro/Spine Surgery
- GI Bleed/Endoscopy
- Pulmonary Embolus
- Neurological diagnoses including but not limited to:
- CVA, TIA, TBI
- Post Neuro-Surgery
- Altered Mental Status
- Meningitis
- New onset Seizures
- Hypertensive Crisis
- Chest Pain, CHF
- Sepsis
- Alcohol Withdrawal
- Pre and Post Cardiac Cath Lab patients
- Patients meeting PACU discharge criteria

Vital Signs:
- HR: 50-150
- BP: 90 mmHg to 180 mmHg Systolic
- Dyspnea with respiratory rate: 30 breaths/min or 10 breaths/min
- Oxygen Saturation: greater than 90

IV Drips Managed:
- Agatroban
- Agrastat/Integrelin/ReoPro
- Amiodarone
- Cardene
- Cardizem
- Dobutamine (Renal/Heart failure dose)
- Dopamine (Renal/Heart failure dose)
- Heparin
- Lasix
- Morphine or Ativan for palliative care
- Nitroglycerin
- Primacor
- Sodium Bicarbonate
