Controls Technician I

This position will routinely and consistently perform a variety of recurring and non-recurring, controls assignments, both preventative as well as corrective. This involves highly technical work in the installation, set-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of moderately complex to complex building systems (i.e. Field Controller Networks (FCN), Air handling units (AHUs), terminal units Variable air volume (VAV) and Constant air volume (CAV), exhaust fans, chillers, boilers, pumps, compressors, energy recovery units, etc., motor drives (VFD) and instrumentation installation and calibration.

High school diploma or equivalency of related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Requires certification(s).

Understanding of the basic refrigeration process used in mechanical refrigeration and air conditioning systems; to include terminology, safety, and identification and function of components; refrigeration cycle; and tools and instrumentation used in mechanical refrigeration systems is advantageous. A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Products and computers is preferred. Knowledge and understanding of any of the following areas will be advantageous: various communications protocols used in the industry including BACnet, LonTalk and Modbus; familiarity with networking applications; familiarity with SCADA systems; Ethernet, TCP-IP, IP Networks and infrastructure; Experience with Carrier-IVue, Trane, Tridium, Johnson Controls, Schneider, or Siemens. ANICET Industrial Instrumentation Level I Certification is preferred.
