Data Analyst -Logistics Operations /Federal Program Support Washington, DC, USA Job Description Posted Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 5:00 AM TekPro Support Services is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support the Customer Enterprise Logistics Support Services program. The Data Analyst will independently collect, validate, analyze, interpret, and report operational and performance data supporting logistics, transportation, warehouse, mail, supply, relocation, inventory, and related service activities. This position serves as the program's primary analytical resource and is expected to work with limited day-to-day supervision. The analyst will convert operational data into accurate, usable information that supports program management, customer reporting, workload forecasting, performance monitoring, staffing decisions, quality control, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently, managing multiple recurring and ad hoc reporting requirements, identifying data inconsistencies, developing analytical products, and communicating findings clearly to program leadership. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Data Collection and Management Collect operational data from multiple sources, including spreadsheets, databases, logistics systems, transportation records, inventory systems, service-ticket systems, and customer-provided reports. Consolidate data from multiple operational locations into standardized program-level datasets. Review source data for completeness, accuracy, consistency, duplication, and formatting errors. Establish and maintain organized datasets that support recurring program reporting and historical trend analysis. Maintain appropriate data dictionaries, report definitions, calculations, and source documentation. Identify missing, conflicting, or questionable data and coordinate with operational personnel to resolve discrepancies. Maintain version control and appropriate records for recurring reports and analytical products. Data Analysis Analyze workload, productivity, staffing, service levels, utilization, costs, trends, and operational performance. Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of program activities. Identify trends, anomalies, recurring problems, emerging risks, and performance gaps. Compare actual performance against established requirements, historical performance, targets, or management expectations. Conduct aging, volume, throughput, workload, variance, and trend analyses. Develop forecasts and estimates based on historical data and known operational changes. Support staffing and resource assessments by analyzing workload requirements and labor utilization. Perform root-cause analysis when data indicates recurring operational or performance issues. Develop analytical models and calculations that support management decision-making. Reporting and Dashboards Develop and maintain recurring daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required. Prepare clear management summaries that explain what the data shows, why it matters, and what actions may be required. Create charts, graphs, tables, dashboards, scorecards, and other visual presentations of program data. Maintain standardized report templates and ensure consistent reporting across supported functions. Develop exception reports that highlight overdue actions, service failures, data anomalies, or operational risks. Prepare executive-level summaries for the Program Manager and government customer when requested. Produce ad hoc reports and analyses in response to management or customer requests. Program Performance Support Track Key Performance Indicators, service-level measures, workload metrics, and other performance requirements. Support Contract Data Requirements List, quality-control, customer-reporting, and internal management-reporting requirements as applicable. Assist program leadership with identifying performance trends before they become significant operational issues. Support analysis of labor utilization, staffing levels, vacancies, overtime, workload distribution, and productivity. Analyze operational data to assist with workload balancing between facilities or work groups. Support cost, funding, and resource analyses when requested by program leadership. Assist with developing estimates for new requirements, staffing changes, surge requirements, and proposed contract modifications. Logistics and Operational Analysis The analyst may support data associated with: Warehouse and distribution operations Mail and package processing Package receipt, tracking, and delivery Transportation and courier operations Fleet utilization and vehicle activity Office relocation and move support Inventory and property management Supply operations Service tickets and work-order activity Staffing and labor utilization Training and qualification tracking Safety and operational incidents Operational backlogs and aging reports Contract performance measures Quality Assurance and Data Integrity Conduct routine quality reviews of reports before release. Verify formulas, calculations, filters, date ranges, and source data. Reconcile discrepancies between source systems and management reports. Establish repeatable analytical methods to improve consistency and reduce manual errors. Document assumptions and methodologies used in analytical products. Protect sensitive operational and personnel-related information in accordance with company and customer requirements. Process Improvement Recommend improvements to data collection, reporting, and analytical processes. Identify opportunities to automate repetitive reporting activities. Develop standardized templates and tools that improve reporting speed and accuracy. Work with supervisors and operational personnel to improve the quality of source data. Assist management in developing performance measures for new or changing requirements. Support continuous-improvement initiatives by providing measurable before-and-after performance data. Management Support Provide analytical support directly to the Program Manager. Independently prioritize recurring reports and assigned analytical tasks. Brief management on significant trends, exceptions, risks, or discrepancies. Respond to time-sensitive requests for data while maintaining accuracy. Prepare analytical material for customer meetings, program reviews, business reviews, and management briefings. Maintain awareness of current program priorities and adjust analytical focus accordingly. Independence and Judgment This position operates as an independent contributor . The Data Analyst is expected to: Perform routine analytical responsibilities with minimal supervision. Independently determine appropriate analytical methods for assigned tasks. Manage recurring reporting deadlines without continuous management direction. Identify data quality problems and initiate actions to resolve them. Recognize significant trends or anomalies and elevate them to management. Organize and prioritize multiple concurrent assignments. Exercise sound judgment when interpreting incomplete or conflicting data. Clearly identify assumptions, limitations, and data gaps rather than presenting unsupported conclusions. Maintain confidentiality and professional discretion when handling sensitive information. The Program Manager will establish overall priorities and customer requirements. The Data Analyst will independently determine the most effective method to complete assigned analytical work. Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following or a closely related field: Data Analytics Business Analytics Statistics Mathematics Economics Business Administration Operations Management Supply Chain Management Logistics Information Systems Computer Science Finance Accounting A combination of relevant education, professional training, and directly applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree when permitted by contract requirements. Required: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience performing data analysis, business analysis, operations analysis, reporting, or a closely related function. Demonstrated experience independently analyzing large or complex datasets. Experience developing recurring management reports and ad hoc analytical products. Experience identifying trends, anomalies, and data-quality issues. Experience presenting analytical findings to managers or operational leaders. Preferred: Five or more years of relevant analytical experience. Experience supporting logistics, transportation, warehousing, supply chain, facilities, mail operations, government services, or other operational environments. Experience supporting a federal government contract. Experience working in a multi-site operational environment. Required Technical Skills The candidate must demonstrate strong proficiency in: Microsoft Excel Advanced Excel capability is required, including: PivotTables and PivotCharts XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, or equivalent lookup functions SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, IF statements, and logical formulas Data validation Conditional formatting Filtering and sorting Date and time calculations Data cleaning and normalization Charts and graphs Workbook protection and organization Importing and combining data from multiple sources Experience with Power Query is strongly preferred. Microsoft Office Proficiency with: Microsoft Word Microsoft PowerPoint Microsoft Outlook Microsoft Teams The analyst must be able to convert detailed analytical findings into concise management briefings and written summaries. Preferred Technical Skills Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable: Microsoft Power BI Power Query SQL Microsoft Access SharePoint TableauPython or R for data analysis Automated reporting tools Workflow automation These tools are preferred but are not substitutes for strong analytical judgment and advanced Excel capability. Produce accurate and reproducible analytical results. Maintain organized supporting data and source documentation. Minimize report errors through effective quality-control procedures. Identify significant discrepancies before reports are distributed. Clearly distinguish facts, assumptions, estimates, and recommendations. Provide timely analytical support to program leadership. Develop repeatable processes rather than relying on undocumented manual methods. Continuously improve reporting efficiency and usability. Maintain professional working relationships across the program. Security and Background Requirements The selected candidate must: Be eligible to work in the United States. Successfully complete all company and customer-required background screening. Meet CUSTOMER facility-access and security requirements applicable to the position. Maintain required access eligibility throughout employment. Comply with all customer policies concerning access, information protection, and acceptable use of government systems. The position primarily performs office-based analytical work in a professional government-contract environment. The employee may periodically visit logistics, warehouse, mailroom, transportation, or other operational areas to observe processes, validate data, or meet with operational personnel. The position requires prolonged computer use and the ability to work with multiple electronic data sources throughout the workday. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to: Perform extended periods of computer-based work. Sit or stand for normal office work periods. Move throughout office and operational facilities when required. Communicate effectively in person, electronically, and by telephone. Review electronic and printed reports containing detailed numerical information. This position does not normally require routine heavy lifting or material-handling duties.
