Senior Director, Legal Counsel

Role:
Senior Director, Legal Counsel at biopharma specializing in cardiovascular therapeutics, providing strategic legal guidance on corporate and commercial matters.
Responsibilities:
- lead negotiations for complex agreements related to business development, licensing, and acquisitions
- draft and review contracts for public biotech companies, focusing on key provisions like IP, indemnities, and regulatory issues
- evaluate and implement legal technology solutions
- advise cross-functional teams on legal risks and solutions
- manage outside counsel efficiently
Requirements:
- JD degree, active membership with at least one U.S. state bar (preferably California), 10+ years of in-house or law firm experience in biotech, pharma, or healthcare
- strong legal drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- ability to operate independently and manage multiple projects
HighValue:
- extensive experience in biotech or pharma legal affairs, with knowledge of corporate agreements, licensing, acquisitions, and regulatory considerations
- familiarity with legal tech innovations
- in-house experience preferred
WorkSetup:
hybrid in South San Francisco, CA, with on-site presence required.
