Director of Respiratory Therapy Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 Weeks(Renewable) Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours per Week Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Director of Respiratory Therapy to lead and manage Respiratory Care, Pulmonary Function Testing, Blood Gas Laboratory, Sleep Lab, and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation services. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing departmental operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining regulatory compliance, managing staff and budgets, and driving quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Plan, direct, and manage Respiratory Care services and related departments. Oversee daily operations, staffing, scheduling, and resource utilization. Manage approximately 32 full-time employees. Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CAP, OSHA, CDC, and state regulatory standards. Monitor quality metrics and implement performance improvement initiatives. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care. Manage departmental budgets and operational goals. Maintain equipment standards and ensure a safe patient care environment. Support staff development, training, and performance management. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Current Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist License. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred. Experience Requirements Strong leadership experience within Respiratory Therapy services. Extensive experience in Acute Care and Critical Care environments. Experience with Pulmonary Function Testing. Experience with Blood Gas Laboratory operations. Experience with Sleep Lab and Polysomnography services. Experience with Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation programs. Knowledge of EEG services. Knowledge of Neonatal Respiratory Care preferred. Experience managing staff, budgets, and quality initiatives. Additional Requirements Ability to travel between multiple healthcare locations as needed. Strong communication and organizational skills.
