Payroll Clerk

The Payroll Clerk supports the Finance department by maintaining payroll systems and assisting with accounting processes. This role ensures employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Responsibilities include reviewing time records, managing leave accruals, processing payroll taxes and deductions, and maintaining employee records. The Payroll Clerk must be able to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and handle time-sensitive matters professionally. Strong communication skills and a high level of confidentiality are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Process biweekly payroll accurately and on schedule
• Review and approve weekly timecards and follow up on discrepancies
• Maintain and update accruals for sick leave, vacation, FMLA, and donated leave
• Process payroll-related changes including garnishments, deductions, and employee status updates
• Audit and maintain direct deposit information
• Process payroll liabilities, taxes, and deductions
• Maintain and update employee and organizational records for auditing and compliance
• Support accounts receivable functions including invoice coding, data entry, and batch auditing
• Provide backup support for travel reimbursements, petty cash, and credit card tracking
• Respond to payroll and vendor-related issues and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Provide general clerical and accounting support to the Finance department

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED require
• Minimum of two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
