Sr. Oracle DBA with TS/SCI Polygraph

Overview Database Administrator Leidos is seeking a Sr. Database Administrator to support a large, complex, fast-paced operational program. The selected individual will maintain the integrity, security, and availability of multiple databases, including disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and data monitoring. They will administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures to ensure database security and integrity, evaluate and recommend database management system products, and perform lifecycle activities to ensure optimal system performance, availability, and regulatory compliance. Primary Responsibilities Perform daily database administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of system databases and replication issues. Monitor database performance and memory allocations using standard tools. Perform system updates and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) patching. Troubleshoot and resolve database problems. Perform database recovery actions. Modify existing database scripts to enhance systems support and create new scripts for recurring database issues. Develop and execute SQL queries for routine and ad hoc requests. Transition/ingest legacy data. Translate requirements and data into usable database schemas by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros; update existing queries and create new queries to manipulate data into a master file. Recommend design and implementation practices that optimize the performance of GOTS/COTS databases and applications. Assist in the development of database structures that fit into the overall system architecture. Assist in developing databases, database parser software, and database loading software. Basic Qualifications Requires a Bachelor’s with 20 years of experience or a Master’s with 15 – 20 years of prior relevant experience or a Doctorate with 13 – 16 years of prior relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for a degree. At least ten (10) years of demonstrated experience as a database administrator. At least ten (10) years of Oracle Database Administration experience. In-depth experience implementing and maintaining database security. In-depth experience conducting database performance tuning and monitoring. In-depth experience troubleshooting and resolving database problems/issues. Experience installing, configuring, and upgrading RDBMS software. Experience with procedural languages such as PL/SQL. Clearance Required: TS/SCI with Polygraph on Day One (firm). Preferred Qualifications Experience with real-time highly available data replication technologies (e.g., Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Streams, Oracle GoldenGate, Sybase Replication Server). Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology and/or as a member of an Agile team. Extensive experience with database design and development. Extensive understanding of databases, primarily Oracle and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB. Experience using Oracle SQL/PLSQL and SQL in general. Experience with MongoDB and/or Cassandra.
