This role is essential to maintaining a high standard of care and improving resident well-being through proactive health planning, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance. Wellness Directors lead and manage a team of nurses, care staff, and wellness associates, and are responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, developing and maintaining care plans, supervising medication administration, and promoting an overall culture of wellness. They act as a liaison between residents, families, healthcare providers, and internal departments to ensure continuity and excellence in care delivery. In addition to daily operations, the Wellness Director plays a key role in team training, risk management, quality assurance, and wellness programming. This position requires strong clinical judgment, leadership skills, and a deep commitment to resident-centered care.ResponsibilitiesAssist with leading day-to-day operations of the Health & Wellness DepartmentSupervise Wellness Nurses, Resident Associates, and Medication AidesCoordinate resident care plans, assessments, and interdisciplinary communicationMaintain compliance with infection control, OSHA standards, and state regulationsSupport recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluation of wellness team membersEnsure completion of licensure, certifications, and required staff trainingMonitor medication administration practices and documentationServe as a liaison with residents, families, physicians, and other departmentsAssist with wellness events, emergency preparedness, and wellness educationManage wellness department supplies, scheduling, and staffingReport operational updates and compliance status to the Executive DirectorRequirementsActive RN or LPN license (Degree preferred)Prior leadership experience in a healthcare or service-related settingFamiliarity with resident care plans, documentation, and medication administrationStrong communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of older adult care and wellness programmingExperience supervising teams or operations in clinical or healthcare environmentsCompensation Range : If hired after the internship the target compensation range is $78K - $86K. This compensation can vary depending on experience level, certifications, and other factors. [ NOTE: Because this is a SkillBridge Internship, it is understood that no single candidate will have equal expertise in all the areas of responsibility listed. Successful candidates will possess a compelling combination of many of them and the self-awareness and wisdom to leverage existing and/or new resources in the area(s) where they lack personal mastery.] Vets2PM Provides: ACP/Scrum or Project Management Certification Training Mentorship and guidance via weekly SkillBridge Intern Zoom Meetings. PM Fundamentals course, Resume writing, LinkedIn optimization, and interview skills course. Other free resources, including an electronic copy of 'How to Speak Civilian Fluently'. Other: Not all internships include certification training by Vets2PM, as many host companies include their own internship-focused training instead.
