Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Location Carlsbad, NM

Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule Nights, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM; floating and call required.

Job Description The Registered Nurse is accountable for providing care to patients in the Emergency Department by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. The incumbent demonstrates critical thinking skills and leadership in planning for safe patient care delivery, maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education, and overseeing the patient care delivered by assigned staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively.
• Administer medications and monitor side effects.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care.
• Maintain knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of Emergency Room nursing experience required.
• Active RN license in the state of New Mexico.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications required; NRP preferred.
• Fingerprinting is required for all NM travelers.
