***This is not a remote position*** Behavior Analyst Position Description Job Mission: The Behavior Analyst coaches and manages a high-performing team of RBTs to deliver a quality clinical and customer experience for clients and families living with autism through their ABA journey with Ascend for optimal clinical outcomes. Location: Phoenix, AZ - West Valley Position Overview Ascend is seeking a passionateBoard Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)who enjoys providing high-quality, evidence-based ABA services in both ourclinic and clients' natural environments, including homes, schools, and community settings. Our BCBAs serve as both clinical leaders and people leaders. In addition to overseeing individualized treatment plans and family support, you will coach and develop a team of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), ensuring exceptional clinical outcomes and outstanding family experiences. Supervisory Responsibilities As a BCBA at Ascend, you will lead a team of approximately8–10 Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs)by providing coaching, mentorship, and clinical oversight. Responsibilities include: Provide leadership and coaching to Behavior Technicians to accelerate client outcomes. Supervise and connect with each RBT weekly. Serve as the coaching manager for assigned RBTs, including interviewing candidates, making hiring recommendations, delivering performance feedback, coaching performance, and participating in corrective action up to and including termination. Create professional development opportunities and career pathing for RBTs. Deliver competency-based training and treatment integrity checks. Foster a positive, engaging team culture where RBTs feel supported, recognized, and continuously learning. Provide fieldwork supervision for individuals pursuing BCBA certification. Ensure a minimum of10% clinical supervisionacross client cases or provide direct services when clinically necessary. Ensure a minimum of5% supervisionfor each RBT working with assigned clients. Monitor treatment dosage and fulfillment in alignment with scheduling policies and clinical appropriateness. Manage RBT case assignments to optimize clinical, family, and operational fit. Coordinate scheduling of supervision overlaps, assessments, parent trainings, and other clinical appointments. Essential Job Duties Clinical Excellence Conduct intake consultations to determine the appropriateness of ABA services. Perform comprehensive behavioral assessments, including interviews, observations, record reviews, and standardized assessments. Develop individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention programs. Communicate assessment findings and treatment recommendations compassionately with families. Provide high-quality ABA treatment using evidence-based practices tailored to each client's needs. Deliver services in both Ascend centers and clients' natural environments. Utilize Natural Environment Teaching, Verbal Behavior, Incidental Teaching, and Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention strategies. Maintain current treatment goals based on client progress and changing needs. Complete assessments and treatment plan reviews within required timelines. Conduct monthly self-monitoring audits and maintain at least90% interobserver agreementwith the Clinical Director. Family Partnership Serve as the primary clinical contact for assigned families. Provide exceptional customer service and proactive communication. Conduct parent training at leastbiweeklyto promote skill generalization. Address family concerns with empathy and ensure timely resolution. Coordinate care with physicians, schools, therapists, and other providers. Collaborate closely with Family Support Services to ensure the needs of the entire family are addressed. Plan proactively for time away to ensure uninterrupted clinical support. Clinical Operations Maintain approximately22 billable hours per weekwhile managing a full clinical caseload of approximately240 direct treatment hours. Ensure timely documentation and compliance with payer and regulatory requirements. Utilize technology platforms (EMR, CRM, Google Workspace, practice management software) to improve efficiency and client outcomes. Comply with all company policies, BACB Ethics Code, payer requirements, and governing regulations. Required Skills & Competencies The ideal candidate demonstrates: Strong knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis, evidence-based practice, and ethical decision-making. Expertise in: Natural Environment Teaching (NET) Verbal Behavior Incidental Teaching Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) Passion for early intervention and working with children ages 1–8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Compassion and professionalism when navigating difficult family conversations. Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Education & Experience Required: Master's Degree in Behavior Analysis or related field. Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing. 2–3 years of experience as a practicing BCBA. Experience supervising Behavior Technicians. Completion of an 8-hour BACB Supervisor Training. Eligible for state licensure where required. Ability to maintain licensure, credentialing, and CAQH attestation requirements. Reliable transportation with the ability to travel locally between clinic and client locations. Ability to pass a background check and be authorized to work in the United States. Preferred: Experience providing services in both clinic and home-based settings. Multiple years supervising clients from early childhood through adolescence.
