BRCC seeks to fill the position of Custodian 2 within the Facilities Department. This is a full-time position that helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position performs a variety of custodial and facility support duties, including cleaning buildings, maintaining floors and equipment, and assisting with campus events and general upkeep. Job Duties: Cleans bathrooms, offices, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing Empties and decontaminates trash containers. Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures. Mixes or blends cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks. Strips, cleans, and polishes floors using industrial-grade machines. Follows procedures for disposing of infectious waste. Maintains custodial equipment; reports needs for minor building and/or equipment repairs to a higher-level custodian. Sets up tables, chairs, and other furniture for special meetings, banquets, or other occasions as assigned. Washes blinds, windows, and walls with prescribed solutions. Operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas. Strips, decontaminates, and makes beds for patients, residents, students, etc. May perform grounds work by picking up trash, watering plants, light mowing, weed trimming, etc. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probationary appointment with a one-year agency probationary period. Successful completion of this period is required before obtaining permanent status. Compensation: Anticipated starting salary will be commensurate with education and work experience.
