Are you living your life's work?School Physical TherapistSchool Hours: 7:00am-6:00pm/ Part-time/20 Hours Per Week/Variable HoursLocation: Catherine Hershey Schools-New Danville Pa.POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of the Physical Therapist position is to practice the art of physical therapy in accordance with the physician's instructions and Code of Ethics of the profession. Patient care includes care to patients in the following age groups: pediatric adolescent. At Catherine Hershey Schools for Early Learning (CHS), we are passionate about nurturing children, empowering families, and strengthening communities through high-quality early childhood education. We provide year-round weekday care and education to children from six weeks to age five from under-resourced and overburdened backgrounds, with all costs covered for qualifying families. As a subsidiary of Milton Hershey School, CHS is part of a $350 million initiative to develop six Early Childhood Education Centers across Pennsylvania.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:Serving children aged six weeks to five years at CHS programsConduct developmental screenings and assessmentDeliver treatment services and provide evaluation, and recommended services for children experiencing physical delays in gross motor and/or adaptive functioning by providing skills practice and exercises to build strength and progress in the areas of deficitMaintain effective communication with families and all CHS departmentsCollaborate with multiple disciplines and participate in the Child support team to determine best practices and care for childrenConsultation with parents/caregivers to recommend interventions, skills practices and strategiesProvide CHS center staff with recommendations on classroom accommodations or equipment to facilitate skill developmentMaintain documentation in accordance with CHS guidelinesEnsure that progress is effectively represented in documentationCollaborate with additional external partners in creating and implementing child's plan of careAdhere to all policies and procedures of CHS, DHS, certification requirements, mission statement, HIPAA, confidentiality standards and patient rightsAbility to work in a team-like atmosphere, collaborating with an team of therapists, teaching staff, family success team and familiesExhibiting positive relations towards children and faculty when responding to questions and communicationsJOB REQUIREMENTSMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor of Science degree, as well as PA licensure, issued by the State Board of Physical Therapy.Master of Science degree is preferred.CPR certification.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:One (1) year of general physical therapy experience.We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
