Job Summary

Provide a variety of therapeutic massage and bodywork treatments for physical conditions, injuries, and health maintenance using soft and deep tissue techniques. Includes scheduled appointments as well as walk-ins at our location. This position requires delivering exceptional professional service to ensure the highest client satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic sessions to relieve pain, help rehabilitate injuries, improve circulation, release stress, deepen relaxation, improve posture as well as ease of movement/range of motion, and aid in the general well-being of clients.
• Greet all clients in a warm and welcoming manner.
• Treat all clients with a respectful, caring attitude.
• Ask about and listen to client history of injuries, physical conditions and current issues.
• Design sessions around client’s specific issues and problem areas.
• Check in with clients at the beginning and during sessions and adjust technique to meet client needs.
• Suggest schedules for recurring sessions if additional treatments are recommended.
• Develop and maintain personalized relationships with MTC clients.
• Maintain confidentiality of clients’ personal information.
• Maintain the treatment rooms, ensuring they are presentable and stocked after each shift by adhering to Massage Therapy Center’s policies as well as safety, health, and sanitation requirements.
• Reliable, on-time attendance required for all scheduled shifts.

 

Required Knowledge and Abilities

 

• Trained in a minimum of three of the following bodywork modalities: Clinical Deep Tissue, Craniosacral, Deep Work, Lymphatic Massage, Myofascial Release, NeuroMassage, Reflexology, Shiatsu, Sports Massage, Swedish/Western Massage.
• Ability to assess client needs and deliver individualized treatment.
• Sensitive to maintaining confidentiality of client information.
• Ability to schedule and organize time efficiently.
• Effective and respectful communicator and listener.
• Friendly and helpful attitude, provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain professional behavior with clients, a team of expert peers, and MTC staff.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance.

 

Required Qualifications

• Current certification from the California Massage Therapy Council
• A minimum of 500 hours of massage therapy practice
• Reliable transportation required
