Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

Perform 100% mechanical maintenance on production equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

Work closely with an on-shift electrician to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues in a timely manner.

Respond to reactive maintenance and breakdown calls, diagnose root causes, and complete effective repairs.

Conduct preventative maintenance activities to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.

Maintain and repair conveyors, fans, 100 horsepower blowers, furnaces, ovens, and motors used in glass manufacturing.

Perform pipefitting tasks, including replacing burst or damaged pipes and ensuring proper fit and function.

Carry out MIG and stick welding repairs and fabrication as required to support maintenance and project work.

Operate forklifts and scissor lifts safely to access equipment and move materials as needed for maintenance tasks.

Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and equipment documentation to guide repairs and installations.

Support weekend and night shift project work, including equipment upgrades, installations, and improvements.

Document maintenance activities accurately and communicate equipment status and issues to the team.

Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working around hot ovens, heavy equipment, and moving machinery.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.

Hands-on experience performing mechanical maintenance and repairs on conveyors, motors, blowers, ovens, and related equipment.

Demonstrated MIG and stick welding experience for maintenance and repair work.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80017.00 - $80017.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
