Prevention Specialist

Essential Functions
- Supports program development, implementation, reporting, and evaluation as necessary to meet funding requirements.
- Manages coordination and subject matter content during the development of meetings, training, events, and conferences.
- Tracks and manages components required for project reporting.
- Creates and promotes social media content and other virtual learning opportunities.
- Coordinates the Douglas County Youth Empowerment and Prevention (YEP) and school-based partnerships of YEP.
- Assists in the facilitation and coordination of Engage Douglas County meetings.
- Implements relevant prevention initiatives, including educating communities and youth to reduce the prevalence of substance misuse, as well as raise awareness of suicide prevention and mental health promotion.
- Provides training and technical assistance to community partners on substance misuse, suicide prevention, and mental health promotion.
- Supports other prevention projects as assigned in partnership with other prevention staff.

Education, Experience, and Licensure
- Requires a bachelor's degree
- Requires college hours in community health, communications, human services, teaching, or another related field
- Must have experience with project management
- Requires two years of experience in community-based health issues and/or training
- Must possess a valid state Driver's License, in force automobile liability insurance, and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization's insurability standard as defined by DCCCA policy. Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position
