Responsibilities
- Verify patient identity and review physicians’ orders before starting imaging.
- Perform radiographic imaging per orders, using proper positioning and exposure to produce diagnostic-quality images.
- Explain procedures to patients and families; assist with positioning, including lifting or moving patients as needed.
- Maintain radiation safety practices to minimize dose; monitor patient status and respond to age-specific needs.
- Validate patient information in the electronic health record, ensure correct exam details, and submit images to the PACS system with accurate labeling.
- Communicate effectively with the Radiologist, unit staff, and on-call teams; promptly report damaged or malfunctioning equipment.

Requirements
- NYS license (or ability to obtain prior to starting)
- ARRT certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- 2 years of X-ray Technologist experience
- Level 1 trauma center experience
- 1 year of pediatric experience and 1 year of trauma-1 experience
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology
- Ability to move or lift patients and to stand for extended periods
- Skills checklist including familiarity in pediatric fluoroscopy exams (UGI, VCUGs, Barium Enema, etc) and NICU portables
- Ability to report within 30 minutes to on-call shifts
