This position is in constant contact with the public and serves as a direct reflection of the hospital's commitment to excellence in care and service.The Cook is responsible for the preparation of a wide variety of foods, including meats, poultry, fish, vegetables, starches, soups, sauces, casseroles, sandwiches, baked goods and desserts, as outlined on the current menu. Meals are prepared for hospital patients, the employee/visitor cafeteria and in-house catered events. The Cook must demonstrate proper food safety practices, attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness and presentation. This position reports directly to the Nutritional Services Supervisor.Responsibilities Include:Preparing and cooking meals according to the posted menu and dietary guidelinesEnsuring food quality, taste and presentation meet established standardsMaintaining a clean and organized kitchen work areaFollowing all food safety and sanitation regulationsAssisting with inventory, food storage and supply rotationCommunicating effectively with the food service team and other departmentsSupporting special dietary needs and event catering as assignedIf you're a dedicated and detail-oriented cook with a passion for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals and creating a welcoming dining experience, we'd love to hear from you!
