Registered Nurse - Admit Transfer Center

Job Description Summary MUSC is seeking a dedicated and skilled RN for our high-volume Admit Transfer Center. This elite team of professionals is the hub for all admissions and transfers across our 16-hospital system in South Carolina and manages approximately 2000 beds, coordinating approximately 1500 transfers monthly and 1000 phone calls daily. The RN will be a key contact, facilitating patient transfers to MUSC hospitals from MUSC as well as non-MUSC facilities. This position collaborates with our Patient Placement representatives and acts as a clinical resource and facilitator. Minimum Training and Education Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. RN staff hired on or after July1,2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to initiate education for BSN within 2years and complete within four years of hire date. Employees are required to sign an agreement regarding the education requirement. Minimum Experience 5years of work experience as a Registered Nurse. Leadership experience, including Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, and/or Nurse Manager preferred. Experience with EPIC and patient flow/throughput in a call center environment preferred. Licensure, Certifications, Registrations Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Some positions may require certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Shift Information 3 12‑hour shifts per week Hours: 7:00pm – 7:00am or 11:00am – 11:00pm Rotating holidays, weekends, and storm coverage required for all positions Physical Requirements Continuous: 6‑8 hours per shift. Frequent: 2‑6 hours per shift. Infrequent: 0‑2 hours per shift. The RN must be able to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, work indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes, work from elevated areas, operate in confined/cramped spaces, kneel, bend, twist, squat, pinching operations, perform gross motor activities with fingers and hands, maintain a firm grasp, reach overhead, repeat motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, fully use both legs, maintain balance and coordination, reach in all directions, lift and carry 50 lbs unassisted, lift lower objects 50 lbs from floor to 36 in. unassisted, lift from 36 in. to overhead 25 lbs, exert up to 50 lbs of force. Maintain vision 20/40 corrected, see and recognize objects up close or at a distance, discriminate colors, determine distance/relationship between objects, depth perception, good peripheral vision, maintain hearing acuity with correction, perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, handle stressful situations, work rotating shifts, overtime as required, work in a latex‑safe environment, maintain tactile sensory functions, maintain good olfactory sensory function (selected positions), and be physically qualified for respirator use.
