Job Description
The Patient Account Representative possesses knowledge of coordination of benefits, subrogation, and government regulations regarding third party recoupment and other matters. Accounting and business office skills are needed, in addition to thorough knowledge and understanding involving any patient's account. Also requires excellent public relations skills for addressing and resolving patient's questions or complaints regarding charges. The patient account representative is expected to function within the scope of approved policies and procedures, and regulations for the department and organization. Will be responsible for assisting with orientation, preceptorship and management of personnel assigned to unit. Must be able to work and relate in a professional, non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors. Must be willing to work and complete any duties assigned by the Director without complaint. Yearly mandatory education requirements are non-negotiable and will be the responsibility of the employee to complete in a timely manner.
