Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct initial client interviews to assess mental, behavioral, and emotional health, documenting all findings in a comprehensive manner.

  • Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for individual clients, couples, families, and groups, integrating evidence-based practices.
  • \n
  • Facilitate engaging and therapeutic individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing creative techniques to encourage active participation and healing.
  • \n
  • Monitor and record client progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • \n
  • Participate in multidisciplinary collaborations, working alongside mental health professionals, primary care physicians, and social workers to formulate comprehensive care strategies.
  • \n
  • Follow up with hospital admissions for clients to ensure continuity of care, maintaining communication with psychiatrists and attending physicians.
  • \n
  • Actively identify barriers to recovery and work to mitigate risks that may impede the therapeutic process.
  • \n
  • Provide education and support to family members and primary caregivers on managing mental health challenges for better care outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be working primarily with individuals facing diverse mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and addiction disorders. Your capacity to connect with clients and understand their unique circumstances will contribute significantly to their recovery journey. By fostering a trusted therapeutic alliance, you will empower clients to navigate their struggles and enhance their overall mental health.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

  • Valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW in the state of Florida.
  • \n
  • Successful completion of the NCE and/or NCMHCE assessments.
  • \n
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities to convey complex ideas clearly.
  • \n
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, showing empathy and compassion towards clients.

Preferred Experience\n

  • Prior experience as a mental health counselor, specifically in a community health or outpatient setting.
  • \n
  • Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR.
  • \n
  • Experience addressing both mental and co-occurring physical health conditions, including addiction.
  • \n
  • In-depth understanding of the potential effects of medications prescribed by healthcare providers.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This role offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
