Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years ICU Acute Care experience required License: RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; Crisis Prevention Institute's NCI With Advanced Physical Skills Training course required Must-Have: BSN - Highly desired; Cerner experience required; Must live 100 miles away Description: The ICU is a multidisciplinary unit providing care for various patient populations. This includes neurological, neuro-surgical, medical, surgical, pulmonary, cardiology, cardiothoracic, and trauma patients. Various types of technology are utilized to care for and treat critical care patients. These technologies include ventilators, ventriculostomies, cardiac monitors, pulmonary artery catheters, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, IABP, ECMO/tandem heart, Impella, BIS monitors, continuous pulse oximetry, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), gastric tubes, and intravenous infusion pumps. The role involves fulfilling the needs of patients, families, and the community. The Registered Nurse will perform a variety of patient care functions and tasks in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements.
