Located in Glendale, CA, this direct hire opportunity seeks a skilled pharmacist with experience in long-term care (LTC) and multi-dose prescription filling. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe and accurate medication dispensing while providing clinical support to healthcare teams.

Schedule:

• Every other Saturday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
• Every other Sunday: 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
• When not working weekends: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
• When working weekends: Tuesday and Thursday 1:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Dispense and verify prescriptions following federal and state guidelines, considering dosage, allergies, disease states, drug interactions, and formularies
• Provide clinical and therapeutic recommendations to physicians, nurses, and patients as needed
• Respond professionally and promptly to inquiries from healthcare providers and client facilities
• Oversee and support pharmacy technicians to maintain accuracy and efficient workflow
• Assist with billing and documentation verification
• Sign for and verify medication and supply deliveries
• Manage controlled substance records, including organization, maintenance, and auditing
• Verify and maintain Emergency Kits for product accuracy, expiration dates, and condition
• Support pharmacy safety standards and participate in inspections, surveys, and audits
• Utilize Pioneer Rx system for pharmacy operations
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Current and valid California pharmacist license in good standing
• Preferably experienced in long-term care settings and multi-dose prescription filling
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, procedures, and safety standards
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Ability to manage workflow and supervise pharmacy technicians
