We are seeking energetic, passionate people who want to play a key role for the position of Wildlife Research Technician within the Division of Wildlife, headquartered in Hancock County. Job Description
- Provide technical support and guidance for wildlife conflicts and disease issues
- Process goose and deer damage control permit applications for constituents
- Coordinate wildlife disease monitoring and surveillance efforts within a 20-county area
- Coordinate and conduct wildlife surveys and mark/recapture efforts
- Provide specialized presentations on wildlife management issues to a variety of audiences
- Provide wildlife call center support by answering constituent questions and inquiries
- Act as lead worker for seasonal staff
- Starting hourly pay of $23.65/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 7.5 years of service, with an end salary of $28.76/hr
- There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service. For more details, refer to OCSEA Employees | Department of Administrative Services .

Qualifications
2 yrs. exp. in wildlife management position.
Or completion of undergraduate core program in wildlife management, wildlife biology or zoology or other related field.
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
