Application engineer

Renesas is a leading global semiconductor company. We're seeking an individual to work on cutting‑edge high‑performance digital power management solutions. The position is open for higher‑level roles and is based in Bridgewater, NJ. Qualifications BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Engineering or a technical equivalent and at least 2 years of experience in the power management industry. Understanding of power electronics, control theory, and multi‑phase DC/DC buck converter topology. Automotive power background and knowledge of AEC‑Q1xx qualification is a plus. Programming skills in LabVIEW or Python, with experience automating data collection. Experience modeling power converter losses and/or power semiconductor characterization. Proficiency with circuit simulation and PCB CAD tools. Excellent lab‑based problem‑solving skills and ability to follow data to root cause. Responsibilities Support the development and validation of best‑in‑class power solutions for cutting‑edge digital power applications. Develop power loss models to aid device design in making parametric tradeoffs. Benchmark competitive products. Characterize power devices and complete power stage assemblies for AEC‑Q100 standard. Analyze power losses to provide insight to support smart driver designs. Develop test strategies to verify system‑level robustness of final designs.
