About the Position

Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapist Specialty: - Duration: 13 Week Contract Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1+ year of recent experience working as a licensed Respiratory Therapist required. 1+ years of ICU experience required. Previous experience with ventilators required. License: Current and valid Respiratory Care license in New Jersey required. Certifications: BLS - AHA, ACLS, PALS, NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required. Must-Have: Active New Jersey license. Willingness to float to adult ICU areas, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care floor. Description: The Registered Respiratory Therapist, under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services and supervisors, provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment as per the Department Policy and Procedure Manual. The role involves providing respiratory therapy under medical direction. You will be engaged in the education, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies. Intubation assistance as well as ventilator setup and management will be part of your responsibilities. Gathering all necessary information to evaluate the patient's needs, including disease education and consultations with healthcare professionals, is essential. Building rapport and mutual respect with patients, caregivers, and team members fosters an optimal environment for achieving goals. You will provide and document education for patients and caregivers based on identified needs in an understandable way. Other duties and projects may be assigned as needed. Adhering to organizational competencies and standards of behavior is required. The role involves lifting a minimum of 5 lbs., pushing and pulling a minimum of 5 lbs., and standing for a minimum of 1 hour a day. You will have regular contact with medical personnel and visitors. Shifts are 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, three times a week. Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required.
