Johnson Service Group is currently looking for an Wet Etch / Plating (Wet Process) Operator in the Chatsworth, CA area. This is a Direct hire position for an electronics company

Pay Rate: $20.50 HR

Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Wet Etch / Wet Process Operator supports printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing by operating conveyorized wet etch and electroplating/wet process equipment. This role runs product efficiently, monitors chemical process conditions, and performs basic preventive maintenance and cleaning to maintain quality and throughput.
Key Responsibilities

• Review the production traveler to confirm resist thickness and process requirements prior to running product.
• Set conveyor speed and operate wet etch equipment to run panels in the most efficient manner while meeting process specs.
• Monitor equipment continuously and make periodic adjustments to speed, temperature, and/or chemical levels as required.
• Manually submerge panels and/or operate repetitive plating and wet process machines to electroplate circuits onto panels (e.g., deposition processes).
• Check chemical bath levels and perform chemical additions (“adds”) and replenisher additions as directed.
• Perform manual operations including machine loading, unloading, and board taping .
• Conduct limited preventive maintenance and housekeeping, including cleaning screens , cleaning assigned areas, and supporting basic equipment upkeep.
• Document process checks and production activity per traveler and shop procedures.
• Follow all safety, PPE, and chemical handling requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Experience operating manufacturing equipment in a wet process environment (wet etch, plating, chemical processing, or similar) preferred.
• Ability to follow travelers/work instructions and perform repetitive, detail-oriented work.
• Comfortable working around chemicals and wearing required PPE.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and handle panels/fixtures as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• PCB manufacturing experience (wet etch, electroplating, deposition) strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with monitoring/adjusting chemical process parameters (temperature, concentration/levels, replenishment).
• Basic mechanical aptitude for minor PM/cleaning tasks.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing environment involving wet chemical processes.
• Requires PPE (e.g., gloves, apron, face shield/goggles) and adherence to chemical safety procedures.
• Standing, reaching, and repetitive motion; lifting up to [25-30] lbs as needed.
