As a Pharmacy Manager, you will lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices and leading through change while identifying and addressing performance opportunities. You will consistently exhibit best practices when working the bench, quarterback the team, provide meaningful counseling to patients, and abide by all legal and regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening performance measures through effective coaching and consistent follow‑up. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and utilize safety guardrails at every workstation. Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, coaching the team to do the same, and proactively resolving insurance or medication issues. Offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy; identify, engage, and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize. Manage pharmacy inventory, coaching the team to follow best practices, especially protecting cold chain products. Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding for the store and district, ensuring timely completion of required training and licensure. Ensure pharmacy operations remain fully compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and elevate issues to the Rx DL as needed. Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues and track their training for licensure. Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, managing performance through observation, feedback, and annual reviews. Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs, and oversee the pharmacy schedule. Review business reporting, develop action plans to close gaps in workflow, service, patient care, and compliance. Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, encouraging feedback and taking relevant actions. Maintain and expand relevant clinical and technical skills through required trainings and CMEs. Support access to care and improve outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical services (e.g., testing, prescribing). Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, CVS policies, and procedures to protect patient safety and privacy. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. 1–2 years of experience as a Pharmacist. Essential Functions Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Complete required training within the designated timeframe. Attention and Focus Concentrate on a task over time and pivot quickly when needed. Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety. Customer Service and Team Orientation Actively help people in a friendly manner. Notice and respond appropriately to patient reactions. Communication Skills Use and understand verbal and written communication with patients and colleagues. Listen actively, ask questions, and avoid inappropriate interruptions. Mathematical Reasoning Use math to solve problems such as calculating supplies and dispensing quantities. Problem Resolution Identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action. Physical Demands Mobility for extended periods, lifting up to 20 lbs, extending reaches, and performing repetitive finger tasks. Maintain visual acuity for documentation and small‑part inspection. Team Management and Leadership Lead by example, delegate, empower, and foster a collaborative environment. Motivate team to meet standards and achieve high performance. Apply problem‑solving skills for challenges and innovative solutions. Adapt and take ownership in changing circumstances. Coach, reinforce, and provide feedback or discipline to pharmacy team members. Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager. Preferred Qualifications Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program. 3–5 years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings. Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs. Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range $65.00 – $85.00 hourly. This range is the base hourly rate for the job grade and may vary based on experience, education, geography, and other factors. The position is eligible for additional bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive programs.
