Job Summary:

Love creating content, taking photos, and bringing ideas to life on social media? Join Student Leadership & Belonging as our Social Media & Engagement Assistant and help tell the story of student life through Reels, photography, campaigns, and digital content.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Creative Design & Marketing (50%)

Design flyers, posters, signage, social media graphics, merchandise graphics, and promotional materials.

Produce short-form video content, reels, and promotional campaigns.

Develop content calendars and campaign strategies.

Ensure materials align with CCD branding and communication standards.

Event Marketing Coverage (25%)

Capture photography and video content at campus events.

Assist with social media storytelling initiatives that showcase student involvement and campus life.

Merchandise & Vendor Coordination (20%)

Support student organizations with merchandise requests.

Meet with student organizations and campus partners to gather project requirements.

Develop project timelines and creative briefs.

Present design concepts and incorporate stakeholder feedback.

Manage multiple projects while meeting established deadlines.

Gather information related to budgets, quantities, timelines, and design specifications.

Request vendor quotes and assist in evaluating pricing options.

Learn institutional purchasing and merchandising processes.

Assessment & Professional Development (5%)

Participate in regular supervision meetings.

Reflect on learning outcomes.

Maintain a professional portfolio of completed projects.

Competencies/KSAs:

Knowledge with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, CapCut, or comparable design and editing software.
Ability to create digital and print marketing materials.
Basic photography and/or video editing skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Ability to follow brand guidelines and incorporate feedback into creative work.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current CCD student, enrolled in 6 credit hours, have a complete FAFSA with Financial Aid

Preferred Qualifications:

Current CCD student.
Basic experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, CapCut, or similar creative software.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Basic knowledge of social media platforms and digital content creation.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and feedback.
Current CCD student enrolled in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Marketing, Communication, Multimedia Design, or a related program.
Completion of at least one course related to graphic design, marketing, social media, photography, videography, or digital media.
Previous experience creating social media content, graphics, photography, video, or promotional materials through coursework, employment, volunteering, or student involvement.
Experience working on multiple projects or assignments with established deadlines.

– Gain hands-on experience capturing event content and creating promotional materials using industry-standard tools.

– Strengthen communication skills while working with staff, student leaders, campus partners, and student organizations

Project Management and Creativity
– Build organizational, problem-solving, and creative-thinking skills through content planning, campaign development, and managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Arts, Communication & Design
– Through social media content creation, photography, videography, storytelling, graphic design, and digital media production. This position directly supports students pursuing programs such as Communication, Journalism, and Graphic Design.

Business
– Through marketing strategy, brand promotion, audience engagement, project management, and data-driven decision-making using social media analytics.

Social & Behavioral Sciences
– Through understanding audience behavior, community engagement, inclusion initiatives, and creating content that supports student belonging and involvement.
