DSPs serve as mentors, coaches, advocates, and trusted supports who help individuals live fuller, more connected lives.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport individuals in participating in community activities, recreation, volunteer opportunities, and social eventsAssist individuals in developing friendships and building natural supportsEncourage independence and self-advocacyHelp individuals pursue personal interests, hobbies, employment, educational, and life goalsSupport participation in religious, cultural, and community activities when desired by the individualAssist with meal preparation and healthy living habitsSupport household organization and cleanlinessAssist with budgeting, shopping, and money management as appropriateTeach and reinforce skills that promote independenceProvide transportation to approved activities and appointments when requiredAssist with personal care tasks when authorized and neededObserve and report changes in health, behavior, or wellbeingFollow all individualized support plans and safety protocolsAdminister or assist with medications when appropriately trained and authorizedMaintain a safe and supportive environmentComplete accurate and timely service documentationDocument progress toward individual goalsUtilize electronic systems for scheduling, documentation, and communicationComply with all agency policies, HIPAA requirements, and state regulationsAttend required trainings and maintain certificationsCommunicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team membersParticipate in meetings and ongoing training opportunitiesDemonstrate professionalism and reliability in all interactionsRepresent Kindly with compassion, respect, and integrityQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDValid driver's license and reliable transportationAbility to pass all required background checks and screeningsAbility to complete required training and certification requirementsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsCompassionate, patient, and dependableAbility to work independently and exercise sound judgmentExperience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilitiesExperience in healthcare, caregiving, education, behavioral health, or human servicesCPR, First Aid, or Medication Administration certificationsBilingual candidates are encouraged to applyPhysical RequirementsAbility to travel throughout assigned service areasAbility to lift, transfer, or assist individuals when required by the support planAbility to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical activities associated with community-based support servicesAbility to respond appropriately in emergency situationsWhat Makes Kindly Different?At Kindly, we recognize that exceptional care starts with exceptional caregivers.Our DSPs receive ongoing support, accessible leadership, quality training, and opportunities for professional growth.
