L'Appartement 4F began in a tiny Brooklyn apartment during the pandemic, where founders Ashley and Gautier Coiffard started baking for their neighbors. What began as a passion project has grown into one of New York City's most beloved French bakeries, known for handcrafted croissants, naturally leavened breads, and classic French pastries.

In the evenings, our bakery transforms into L'Apro, a cozy French wine bar featuring natural and biodynamic wines alongside fresh bread, cheese, and traditional French fare. At our core, we're a community-focused business committed to exceptional craftsmanship, hospitality, and bringing a little bit of France to Brooklyn.

About the Role

We're looking for a dependable, motivated baker to join our commissary production team in South Williamsburg. This role is primarily focused on croissant production and preparation of pastry components. You'll work alongside a small, collaborative team that values consistency, quality, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Mix, scale, laminate, and shape croissant dough and other pastries
• Prepare and portion cookie dough, almond paste, and other pastry components
• Follow recipes and production schedules with accuracy and consistency
• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace
• Work efficiently while maintaining high quality standards
• Collaborate with teammates to ensure smooth daily production
• Contribute to a positive, respectful team environment

Qualifications

• 12 years of professional bakery or pastry experience required
• Experience with laminated dough preferred
• Pastry school or formal culinary training is a plus, but not required
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn
• Available to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Able to stand for an entire shift and regularly lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States
