Mirage is an AI video company focused on making creation dramatically easier. Our team tackles some of the hardest creative and technical challenges in generative media. We get to rethink how people collaborate with AI that can actually do creative work with them—defining entirely new interaction paradigms for AI-native video tools. We make that possible by building multimodal agents that turn creative direction into edits, rendering engines that composite multiple layers of video and graphics, and generative video models trained from the ground up that create new media when needed. All of this comes together in Captions, our creative workspace for generating, editing, and designing video. The technology behind Captions is now available more broadly: Tesseract gives any AI agent native video-editing capabilities, while developers can integrate our models into their own products through APIs.

We're looking for an experienced Product Designer to help shape the next generation of AI native video creation at Mirage. You'll take on some of our most ambitious and complex product challenges, working closely with our executive, Product, and Engineering teams to define not just how our products look and feel, but how they fundamentally work. This is a highly hands-on role with significant ownership, from identifying and framing the right problems to exploring new interaction paradigms, prototyping ideas, and shipping polished experiences to millions of creators. You'll help turn rapidly evolving AI capabilities into intuitive, delightful products while establishing the systems and design patterns that allow us to move quickly without sacrificing craft. As a senior member of a small, highly collaborative design team, you'll also help raise the bar for product thinking and design quality across Mirage through strong judgment, thoughtful critique, and hands-on execution.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the executive and product teams to shape product vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap, influencing high-level business and product decisions.
• Own complex, cross-functional product initiatives from concept through launch, driving design strategy and execution across multiple workstreams.
• Translate ambiguous business and user problems into clear, actionable design frameworks, user journeys, and high-fidelity prototypes.
• Lead and elevate product thinking across the organization by articulating clear design rationale grounded in user insights, data, and business objectives.
• Drive and synthesize qualitative and quantitative research to inform product direction, identify opportunity areas, and validate solutions.
• Establish, scale, and evolve a robust design system to ensure cohesion, quality, and efficiency across all product surfaces.
• Provide mentorship and design leadership through thoughtful critique, feedback, and guidance to other designers and cross-functional partners.
• Champion user-centric decision-making at every stage of the product lifecycle while balancing technical constraints and business priorities.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve product experience, workflows, and internal processes.
• Stay ahead of emerging design patterns, technologies, and industry trends, bringing forward-thinking ideas into the product organization.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in product design, with demonstrated ownership of complex, consumer-facing digital products (mobile and/or desktop).
• Proven track record leading end-to-end design initiatives from strategy through launch, with measurable impact.
• Strong systems thinker with experience building or scaling design systems.
• Portfolio demonstrating strategic problem framing, high-quality execution, and shipped work.
• Deep proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools
• Experience influencing and collaborating with cross-functional partners, including product, engineering, and executive stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and drive clarity.
• Strong communication skills and a solid understanding of technical constraints and trade-offs.
