Manufacturing Engineer III

Thermo Fisher Scientific

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Manufacturing Engineer II to support supply chain and manufacturing operations for ion and electron microscopy equipment. The role involves supplier qualification, design for manufacturability optimization, and technical documentation standardization within cleanroom manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and qualify new suppliers through facility visits and engineering collaboration
Develop test parts and guidance to help suppliers meet strict design criteria
Identify design for manufacturability improvements and lead part redesigns
Review and harmonize technical product documentation standards between operations and R&D
Support new product introduction projects from supplier selection and DFM perspectives

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree preferred
5+ years experience in high-tech cleanroom manufacturing environments
Computer aided design experience; NX proficiency a plus
Experience with high vacuum and high electrical field components preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Acrobat for documentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical levels
Ability to lead and align multi-functional, multi-cultural project teams
