Job Title: Sanitation Worker / Machine Operator

Job Description

This role combines sanitation and machine operation responsibilities in a cold food production facility. You will clean and sanitize production areas and equipment according to strict food safety guidelines, dismantle and reassemble machinery for thorough cleaning, and operate packaging machines to ensure products meet quality and conformity standards. The position requires comfort working in a repetitive, physically demanding environment on a consistent overnight schedule.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize the production facility, equipment, and surrounding areas in accordance with food safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Dismantle and reassemble production equipment to perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of all components.
• Use cleaning chemicals in proper concentrations following company guidelines, ensuring safe and effective sanitation.
• Label, store, and maintain all chemicals properly to meet safety and regulatory requirements.
• Disconnect machinery power sources safely before cleaning, repair, or maintenance activities.
• Remove garbage and waste materials from the building and transport them to designated dumpsters in a safe and timely manner.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in the production plant and warehouse, keeping floors, workstations, and equipment areas clean and organized.
• Follow all company safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices at all times while performing job duties.
• Continuously load and fill machines with lids and plastic films to keep production lines running efficiently.
• Load machines using a lift, ensuring safe handling and placement of materials.
• Operate packaging machines and monitor them to ensure product quality, consistency, and conformity with specifications.
• Assist in assembling and configuring machines according to current production specifications and product requirements.
• Perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail and maintain productivity throughout the shift.
• Support production and sanitation teams as needed to meet operational and cleanliness standards.

Work Environment

This role is based in a cold food production facility with temperatures around 40 degrees. You will work overnight on the 3rd shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with regular overtime on Saturdays and occasional work on Sundays when needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of VISTA, CA.

The pay range for this position is $20.60 - $20.60/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in VISTA,CA.
