Position Summary Warehouseman (Opelika, AL) – Full‑time, 2nd Shift, Food Manufacturing. Base Pay $18.00 + Shift Premium; eligible for $2.00 per hour for perfect attendance. Responsibilities Under the direction of the warehouse supervisor, continuously pick, lift, carry and place product into pallets to accurately build customer orders in various temperature environments; move product into a trailer or storage unit, and visually inspect incoming/outgoing warehouse products to determine acceptability for shipment and/or receiving. Read labels and/or printing on product containers and associated documents; count and calculate quantity of product to verify shipment accuracy. Consistently meet company safety, accuracy and productivity standards; operate forklift or pallet jack safely and accident‑free. Use cleaning materials (brooms, mops, solvents, soaps) to clean work area; complete any other functions that may be assigned. Follow Proper Safety Procedures Freezer operations including product rotation Loading and unloading meat and other freight Licensed forklift operator; perform operations with various attachments (slip sheet, drum, standard forks, pallet jack) Basic communication, reading, writing and math skills for checking bills of lading, receiving vouchers, purchase orders, product inventory and preparing paperwork Knowledge of PPE, OSHA, MSDS, lock‑out/tag‑out, GMP, SSOP and HACCP Observe and analyze equipment performance; report problems to supervisor Understand all company policies, procedures and guidelines as they pertain to the job Keep area clean and safe; clear any hazards Other assigned duties as required Safety Safely operate forklift, pallet jack and other assigned equipment Practice safe lifting techniques Maintain forklifts in good working condition Familiarize with area surroundings and emergency exits Report any unsafe equipment or conditions Set‑Up Prepare truck and dock areas for unloading: back trailer flush, chock rear wheels, lower dock board, engage lock, activate red light, ensure dock area is clear. Pick up bills of lading. Generate shipping inventory and production tally sheets. Monitor Operations The monitor operations process includes receiving and processing incoming shipments, verifying orders, inspecting temperature and weight, documenting data on meat receiving reports, managing pallets, performing quality checks, and coordinating unloading and loading of meat products. Key steps involve obtaining order sheets, verifying truck arrival, checking temperature with probe thermometers, recording weights, inspecting quality and safety, labeling and documenting, storing and returning pallets, and uploading shipment logs. Housekeeping Procedures Keep assigned work areas clean for safety and appearance. Remove trash or debris; no meat, plastic, wood, paper or other trash on floor. Mo p up spills, oil leaks and other product leakage. Clean freezer daily. Avoid placing objects on walls. Maintain pest boxes in proper locations. Perform any other tasks necessary to keep work area clean, safe and neat. Physical Requirements Work on feet for 8 hours. Manually lift and move 60‑lb boxes from a truck and stack them on pallets.
