Registered Nurse (RN) - Pre-OpWe are looking for a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Pre-Op to join our team, working in outpatient infusions and procedures within an ambulatory procedure area. This position requires expertise in managing pre-operative morning admission patients and facilitating various infusion therapies and procedures.Shift DetailsThis role involves variable 12-hour shifts, typically scheduled between:06:30 - 19:0007:00 - 19:3007:30 - 20:0008:00 - 20:3008:30 - 21:00Candidates should be available to work every Saturday, along with two additional days during the week.ResponsibilitiesConduct pre-procedure assessments, including medical history checks and patient education.Start IVs, draw labs, and manage central lines.Administer blood transfusions and monitor patients in phase 2 recovery after anesthesia.Perform various anesthesia-assisted procedures, including bronchoscopy and bone marrow biopsy.Engage in tele-interpretation and provide recovery monitoring for patients post-procedure.Occasionally care for pediatric patients, although this is rare.QualificationsRegistered Nurse (RN) with a valid state license.Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a relevant specialty.Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS.Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system is mandatory.Preferred SkillsStrong background in outpatient and ambulatory nursing practices.Proficient in central line management and blood product administration.Ability to perform vital sign monitoring and interpret lab values effectively.Experience in managing patients with various conditions, including anemia, autoimmune diseases, and cardiology issues.Work EnvironmentThe position is within a Magnet-designated, teaching institution with a total of 500 staffed beds. Staff members are expected to maintain a collaborative and supportive team environment.Additional InformationDaily onsite parking options are available.
