We are seeking qualified applicants for the position:Senior Engineer, Mechanical - Fixed Equipment & Piping IntegrityLocated: CameronSummaryThe Senior/Staff Mechanical Engineer – Fixed Equipment & Piping Integrity is responsible for providing technical engineering support for the integrity, reliability, and regulatory compliance of fixed equipment and associated piping systems. The role applies deep fixed equipment knowledge, inspection data, process information, materials and corrosion expertise, and risk-based methodologies to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operations.The incumbent will serve as a technical lead for fixed equipment and piping integrity matters, translating inspection, PCMS, corrosion, process, and operating data into actionable engineering recommendations. This includes developing inspection and repair strategies, supporting risk-based inspection programs, performing Level 1 and Level 2 fitness-for-service assessments, facilitating specialist Level 3 assessments, and leading cross-functional troubleshooting and improvement activities. The role is expected to mentor engineers, support compliance with company and industry standards, and provide technically sound recommendations that improve asset availability, mechanical integrity, and process safety performance.Key ResponsibilitiesFixed Equipment and Piping IntegrityProvide advanced engineering support for pressure vessels, piping systems, heat exchangers, tanks, pressure relief-related fixed equipment interfaces, and associated static equipment.Interpret inspection results, PCMS data, corrosion data, process conditions, operating history, and equipment condition information to determine appropriate engineering actions.Develop, review, and recommend inspection plans using risk-based inspection principles, equipment criticality, damage mechanism reviews, inspection history, and operating risk.Support the development and maintenance of corrosion control documents, condition monitoring locations, integrity operating windows, and equipment integrity strategies.Identify, evaluate, and manage fixed equipment damage mechanisms, including corrosion under insulation, dead legs, erosion, fatigue, cracking, metallurgical degradation, external corrosion, coating failure, and other relevant degradation threats.Recommend inspection, monitoring, repair, replacement, and mitigation strategies to maintain equipment integrity and support continued safe operation.Support joint integrity management, leak detection and repair interfaces, pressure boundary repairs, temporary repairs, and engineered repair assessments where required.Provide technical support for equipment settlement, foundation-related concerns, and civil/structural interfaces affecting fixed equipment and piping integrity.2.Fitness-for-Service, Repair, and Lifecycle ManagementPerform Level 1 and Level 2 fitness-for-service assessments for fixed equipment and piping where damage, thinning, cracking, deformation, settlement, or other integrity concerns are identified.Define the technical scope for Level 3 fitness-for-service assessments and facilitate specialist contractor or subject matter expert support where required.Review and challenge contractor calculations, inspection reports, FFS assessments, and repair recommendations to ensure technical quality and alignment with site requirements.Develop engineering recommendations for continued operation, rerating, repair, replacement, monitoring, or inspection interval adjustment.Support lifecycle planning for fixed equipment and piping by identifying end-of-life risks, obsolescence concerns, recurring degradation, and long-term integrity threats.Provide input into turnaround scopes, outage planning, inspection deferrals, temporary repair evaluations, and long-term capital replacement strategies.3.Materials, Corrosion, Coatings, and Cathodic ProtectionApply advanced knowledge of materials, metallurgy, corrosion mechanisms, and process conditions to predict, prevent, and manage equipment degradation.Support the development and implementation of corrosion mitigation strategies, including material selection, chemical treatment interfaces, coatings, insulation practices, cathodic protection, and inspection monitoring.Provide technical oversight for painting, coating, insulation, corrosion under insulation, and cathodic protection programs associated with fixed equipment and piping systems.Review material specifications, repair materials, welding requirements, and fabrication details to ensure compatibility with service conditions and applicable standards.Work with inspection, operations, maintenance, process engineering, and reliability teams to identify emerging corrosion threats and implement appropriate mitigation plans.4.Codes, Standards, Compliance, and Technical GovernanceEnsure fixed equipment and piping integrity activities comply with Venture Global standards, site procedures, applicable regulatory requirements, and recognized industry codes and standards.Apply relevant industry standards and practices, including API 510, API 570, API 653, API 580/581, API 579 / ASME FFS-1, ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, and otherapplicable API, ASME, ANSI, and ISO requirements.Develop, review, and challenge engineering specifications, inspection scopes, repair plans, and vendor technical submissions to ensure technical rigor, regulatory compliance, and practical site execution.Support Management of Change reviews, technical risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analyses, and process safety barrier reviews involving fixed equipment and piping integrity.Provide technical input to site procedures, engineering guidelines, inspection practices, and integrity management processes.Identify gaps in existing practices and recommend improvements to strengthen fixed equipment integrity, reliability, and compliance.5.Troubleshooting, Reliability, and Operational SupportLead complex troubleshooting related to fixed equipment and piping integrity issues affecting plant safety, availability, reliability, and cost performance.Use cross-disciplinary knowledge of process systems, mechanical design, inspection findings, operating data, and degradation mechanisms to resolve equipment integrity concerns.Support operations and maintenance teams in evaluating abnormal equipment conditions, leaks, vibration-related piping concerns, corrosion findings, pressure boundary damage, and inspection anomalies.Develop technically sound recommendations that balance process safety, regulatory compliance, production risk, equipment life, cost, and execution feasibility.Support reliability improvement initiatives by identifying recurring failure modes, conducting failure analysis, and recommending corrective and preventive actions.Contribute to equipment criticality reviews, reliability studies, technical risk categorization, and availability improvement initiatives involving fixed equipment and piping.6.Software, Data Analysis, and Information ManagementUse PCMS and other inspection management systems to evaluate equipment condition, inspection history, corrosion rates, remaining life, and inspection due dates.Analyze data from process historians, SAP, inspection reports, laboratory results, condition monitoring systems, corrosion monitoring, and engineering records to support technical decisions.Leverage advanced engineering and data analysis tools to identify degradation trends, optimize inspection intervals, support FFS assessments, and improve integrity management decisions.Use company information management tools effectively, including PCMS, SAP, PI, eMOC, document management systems, J5, Benchmark Gensuite, TapRooT or equivalent RCFA tools, and technical library systems.Maintain accurate technical records, engineering recommendations, inspection justifications, and integrity-related documentation.7.Project Execution and Vendor ManagementLead or support fixed equipment and piping integrity projects from problem definition through engineering, specification development, vendor review, execution support, commissioning, and closeout.Define technical scopes of work for inspection contractors, engineering consultants, repair vendors, coating contractors, cathodic protection specialists, and other third-party service providers.Review vendor proposals, technical reports, calculations, specifications, drawings, inspection data, and repair recommendations for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with site requirements.Provide field engineering support during inspections, repairs, turnarounds, outages, and equipment integrity-related project execution.Challenge proposed solutions where necessary to ensure technical quality, safety, cost effectiveness, and long-term reliability.8.Leadership, Mentoring, and Stakeholder ManagementLead cross-functional teams involving operations, maintenance, inspection, reliability, process engineering, projects, contractors, and vendors to resolve fixed equipment and piping integrity issues.Communicate technical risks, options, recommendations, and decisions clearly to engineering leadership, operations leadership, maintenance, inspection, and other stakeholders.Mentor associate, junior, and mid-level engineers in fixed equipment integrity, RBI, FFS, inspection data interpretation, materials degradation, and practical engineering decision-making.Support a culture of technical discipline, continuous improvement, process safety, accountability, and learning.Provide technical advocacy for fixed equipment integrity priorities while balancing operational, commercial, safety, and execution constraints.Contribute to medium- and long-term integrity initiatives under the direction of the Principal Mechanical Engineer and site leadership.Required CompetenciesFoundational KnowledgeDeep understanding of mechanical engineering principles as applied to fixed equipment and piping systems in LNG, petrochemical, refinery, or heavy industrial facilities.Advanced working knowledge of pressure vessels, piping, tanks, heat exchangers, inspection practices, mechanical design principles, materials, metallurgy, corrosion, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, solid mechanics, and vibration-related fixed equipment concerns.Ability to use foundational engineering knowledge to lead projects, ensure compliance with company standards and regulations, and support complex troubleshooting and system optimization.Strong understanding of how fixed equipment integrity interacts with process engineering, operations, maintenance, reliability, inspection, civil/structural engineering, and process safety.Technical KnowledgeAdvanced knowledge of fixed equipment damage mechanisms, RBI, FFS, inspection planning, NDE methods, corrosion monitoring, CUI, dead legs, condition monitoring locations, corrosion control documents, integrity operating windows, cathodic protection, painting and coating, and settlement concerns.Ability to interpret PCMS data, inspection findings, corrosion data, process history, and materials information to recommend inspection plans, repair actions, and risk-based integrity strategies.Ability to perform Level 1 and Level 2 FFS assessments and facilitate Level 3 assessments performed by specialist contractors or consultants.Strong working knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including API 510, API 570, API 653, API 580/581, API 579 / ASME FFS-1, ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3,and relevant company standards.Technical Expertise and ApplicationDemonstrated ability to lead technical work, resolve complex fixed equipment and piping integrity problems, and optimize inspection, repair, and systems.Working knowledge of RBI tools, FFS tools, SAP or equivalent CMMS, process historian tools, document management systems, eMOC systems, and root cause analysis tools.Ability to integrate data from inspection, process, maintenance, reliability, and engineering systems to support business and operational decisions.Ability to use engineering software, spreadsheets, databases, and analytical tools to evaluate degradation trends, remaining life, inspection intervals, and equipment risk.Leadership and Behavioral SkillsAbility to lead cross-functional teams and influence decisions across engineering, operations, maintenance, inspection, reliability, projects, and contractor organizations.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline required.Professional Engineer license, API certification, or other relevant technical credentials preferred.Minimum of 7 years of experience in LNG, refining, petrochemical, chemical processing, power generation, or heavy industrial facilities.Significant experience in fixed equipment, piping integrity, inspection engineering, materials and corrosion, RBI, FFS, mechanical integrity, or related asset integrity roles.Experience working in an operating facility environment with direct interaction across operations, maintenance, inspection, reliability, engineering, projects, and contractors.Demonstrated experience applying API, ASME, company standards, and regulatory requirements to fixed equipment and piping integrity decisions.Experience in LNG or cryogenic hydrocarbon processing facilities.Experience with PCMS, RBI software, SAP, PI, eMOC, and inspection data management systems.Experience supporting turnarounds, outages, field inspections, pressure boundary repairs, temporary repairs, and equipment replacement projects.Experience with corrosion under insulation programs, coating and painting programs, cathodic protection, corrosion monitoring, and integrity operating windows.Experience reviewing contractor FFS assessments, inspection reports, repair plans,
