Reports To: Plant Manager

Summary

The Production Manager oversees daily production operations while strategically managing

supply chain, procurement, and materials flow to support efficiency, cost control, and

quality. This role combines hands-on leadership of production teams with strategic vendor

management, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing initiatives to ensure safe,

reliable, and cost-effective operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise, schedule, and direct production employees to achieve daily output and

quality goals.

Assist with compliance to safety, health, and environmental regulations.

Monitor production metrics, identify inefficiencies, and drive continuous

improvement.

Lead materials and purchasing activities to ensure on-time delivery of parts, raw

materials, and equipment.

Assist Supply Chain Management team in developing and maintaining relationships

with reliable suppliers; negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to optimize cost and

quality.

Forecast demand, manage inventory, and implement pull systems/Kanbans for

efficient material flow.

Coordinate logistics for domestic and international shipments while mitigating risks

in supply continuity.

Conduct cost analysis, benchmarking, and supplier performance tracking to drive

savings.

Contribute to new facility startups and production line launches, including project

management of equipment installation and commissioning.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Business, Materials Management, or related field required;

Bachelor's degree preferred.

10+ years of experience in production, materials, and procurement leadership,

preferably in the automotive or manufacturing sector.

Proven experience in supplier selection, negotiations, and sourcing.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage both production and materials

teams.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems (SAP/PLEX), and vendor management

software.
