Job Title: Shipping Clerk

Job Description

This role supports a busy parts department in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will move materials from the receiving dock to the parts area, put parts away, count inventory, and perform general labor tasks. You will also float to different areas as needed throughout the day, so your tasks may vary. The primary focus is to help the parts department meet increased production demand over the next month, with the potential to position yourself for long-term opportunities based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Move materials from the receiving dock to the parts department in a safe and timely manner.

• Put parts away accurately in designated storage locations and maintain organized racks and inventory areas.

• Perform weight counting of parts and materials to ensure accurate inventory records.

• Assist with shipping purchase orders, including preparing items for shipment and ensuring correct documentation.

• Pick and pack orders according to pick lists, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling.

• Support general shipping and receiving activities, including loading, unloading, and staging materials.

• Apply and manage shipping labels and other required documentation for outgoing orders.

• Participate in general cleanup tasks, including loading pallets into dumpsters and keeping work areas clean and safe.

• Assist with warehouse inventory activities, including counting, recording, and verifying stock levels.

• Perform general production and material handling tasks as assigned, including lifting objects up to approximately 50 lbs.

• Float between different work areas as needed to support daily operations and production goals.

• Follow all safety procedures and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills

• Ability to regularly lift and carry objects up to approximately 50 lbs.

• Experience with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency in order picking and order selection using pick lists.

• Hands-on experience with pick and pack operations, including packing and packaging tasks.

• Ability to apply and manage shipping labels and other shipment documentation.

• Experience with material handling, loading, and general warehouse operations.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing tasks.

• Strong self-motivation and ability to stay productive with minimal supervision.

• Attention to detail when counting inventory and handling parts.

• Basic understanding of warehouse inventory practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in general production or manufacturing environments.

• Familiarity with packaging, labeling, and shipping procedures.

• Comfort working around CNC machines, assembly stations, and warehouse racking.

• Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas.

• Reliability and willingness to float between different departments as needed.

Work Environment

You should be comfortable in an industrial environment with ongoing machine operation, warehouse traffic, and hands-on physical work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oregon City, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
