Sanitation Shift Supervisor

Location: Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: Scheduled hours and workdays may fluctuate based on production and operational needs. weekends, and holidays as required.
Pay Rate: $25 - $32/ Hour (Based on Experience)

Midway Staffing is seeking an experienced, hands-on Sanitation Shift Supervisor to oversee sanitation operations in a fast-paced food-production facility. This position is responsible for leading hourly associates, ensuring sanitation tasks are completed properly, reinforcing food-safety standards, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise hourly sanitation associates and ensure assigned tasks are completed safely, correctly, and on schedule.
• Perform routine facility checks and verify compliance with sanitation and food-safety standards.
• Train and coach employees on sanitation procedures, chemical use, PPE, equipment operation, and workplace safety.
• Inspect commercial dishwashing machines for proper temperature, curtain placement, chemical levels, and cleanliness.
• Work with the Sanitation Manager to implement and maintain the Master Sanitation Plan.
• Monitor inventory of sanitation chemicals, linens, equipment, and supplies.
• Complete corrective actions resulting from inspections, audits, or pest-control findings.
• Prepare detailed end-of-shift reports covering completed and incomplete tasks, staffing concerns, and operational issues.
• Provide hands-on support to the sanitation team as operationally necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• At least two years of supervisory experience in food processing, food manufacturing, or a high-volume commercial kitchen.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Experience supervising, training, coaching, and holding hourly employees accountable.
• Knowledge of food sanitation, chemical safety, proper dilution, PPE, labeling, and storage procedures.
• Experience with commercial dishwashing machines and sanitation equipment.
• Experience handling employee performance concerns, documentation, and progressive discipline.
• Familiarity with sanitation inspections, audits, corrective actions, and pest-control procedures.
• Strong organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work hands-on in a fast-paced food-production environment.
• Reliable availability to work the assigned second-shift schedule.
